Imagine getting called in for your usual AM shift and then getting sacked once you've set the crew up for the day

That’s what happens when you don’t fire someone properly lol

    Felt.

Once I got fired after 2 hours into my shift, they had me use my own gas to drive an hour away to do a menial task that nobody wanted to do, and when I called them when I got back into town they ignored my call and texted me that I was fired lol.

Good for her honestly. Not good working wise but it would feel so good.

“Hey should we fire someone at like 6am after they got up at 4 to get here at 5 to set up breakfast?”.  “Surely they will be the more reasonable party!”.

  5. I worked at a hotel restaurant once upon a time. We had a sous chef who was kind of a jerk but still a hard worker.

The GM brought him on one day to help work the line and execute a PM banquet for 200 people that no one else was able to cover. He worked like 8am to 8pm that day.

After serving the dinner they took the sous into the office and fired him.
They had planned it the whole time.

I didn’t really like the guy but they seriously did him dirty.

    Fuck places that do this.

They close down the free breakfast at 9 or 10. They didn’t think to wait till after breakfast is closed and put away?

I’d like to know where this is so I can avoid giving them my patronage.

There is an undervalue of skilled workers

Not saying that’s what’s goin on here but ya

  10. Worked at a corporate pizza place years back that did this shit. I hated it so goddamned much, once I got into a management position I refused to do it and fought to stop them from the practice. They didn’t, so I started tipping people off when they gonna get the axe, and the morons never caught on to the strange coincidence that the people they were gonna fire conveniently no called/no showed on what would’ve been their last shift.

Well, not all of them. One dude came in, made a fucking feast for his family and dipped. Didn’t sell me out, either. I hope he’s doing well.

    But yes that’s vaild crashout.

  12. The tragedy is she’ll end up paying for that… Complete fucking bullshit.

A long time ago got I fired right before the lunch rush in the dining area while there was customers there. Little baby me just cried and went home. I feel this in my soul. *hunger games salute*

  14. At a past job, the (very large, heavily pierced and tatted) sous chef would walk the freshly fired to the locker room to get their stuff, then to the parking lot. Apparently there had been a similar incident in the past where someone got canned then tore the walk-in apart on their way out.

After that, company policy was that no one who had been fired left unescorted.

Na they put you on the schedule for the week and then fire you first thing when you walk in after being off for 5 days.

    You know, professionalism….. hahahah

My current job is looking at something like this from me soon. They made me buy many things with my own money. Currently owe me 180$ for over a month. Im going to crash out if they dont pay me back soon

Not at a restaurant but they did shit like this at Trader Joe’s, let people work a few hours of their shift, absolutely breaking their back working up a section just to pull them right before lunch and fire them. No one could go ape shit but I think some people stole on their way out

As a former hotel worker, the guy kicking broken glass to go get his fuckin’ scone in the middle of this chaos is just…chef’s kiss.

I once got called in to work lunch service and the one of the owners and GM called me into the office while I was prepping dinner after lunch. There was an envelope with my name on it on the desk. I knew what was up. Told them thanks for the check and bounced.

“Fuck it, if I’m getting fired I’m getting *FIRED*”

    Real.

Any business that fully exploits your labor before firing you, like having you do a task nobody else can/will do or something very complex and time heavy, then just straight fires you? They deserve Whatever happens when that now ex-employee goes off.

  22. cuntisabadwordmmkay

This happened to me when I was casual bartending. There was an influx of new staff, all of whom I trained behind the the bar for 2 weeks. Then I got sacked citing “not enough shifts” basically just trained my replacements

“Woah woah woah who said you were fired? Total miscommunication you’re not fired, just clean all this up and then come see me and I’ll sort this all out”
    “Ok it’s all cleaned”
    “You’re fired”
